Girl Talk

I had an eye opening chat with one of the new caretakers here.  She and I were having a “get to know you” chat and of course the usual questions include husband, kids, boyfriend, interests, etc.  So I find out she has no kids, no husband and no boyfriend.  So being a single girl myself the joke always comes that men are too much trouble and we laugh and move on to the next topic.  Except this time, she added a new reason that I was not expecting.  Instead of the usual “trouble” that men cause, she says in her broken English “too much HIV positive.”    Wow… wrapping my mind around the thought of half the guys (or people for that matter…) I know being HIV+ is nearly impossible for me.  It is definitely a different world here.
